Welcome to the EYES website

EYES is an annual conference for young people. The purpose of the conference is to bring together young people from different backgrounds, cultures and countries in Europe to act and discuss specific youth problems and issues. EYES is supported by the Active Youth Program of the European Union.

The ambition is that at the end of the week all participants will leave with a feeling that something has been moved inside them and that the conference has left a lasting impact on local society.

Take a look at the Conference Program. It will be a memorable week!

The topic for EYES 2010 is “What is good learning?” It is obvious that youth have learned their whole lives. Language, balance, humor, songs, singing, dancing, using hands, and cultural competences – are unknowingly learned before they start in school. At the time they reach the age of 13 to 14 many, mainly boys, find school boring and slow down in the learning processes.

EYES 2010 will encourage the young participants to experience different ways of learning – in ways different from everyday school.

These experiences combined with previous knowledge should make each participant capable of contributing to a common statement and join the discussion with local decision makers of the Youth Policy of Gentofte and answer the question above.

Each delegation prepares a D.U.C.K. (Delegations University of Common Knowledge) – a five to ten minute presentation of “good learning”, experienced and learned once in the past, but so great, that it hasn’t been forgotten.
